Hello Perth đź‘‹ A Fresh Start Down Under

Jul 2, 2025

After nearly a decade of writing code in Israel, I’ve decided to take a leap—personally and professionally—and relocate with my family to Perth, Australia.

A New Beginning: AI Family Relocates to Perth

This move didn’t happen overnight. I’ve been working toward it for the last few years, eventually receiving a Skilled Independent 189 visa, which allows me to live and work in Australia permanently. It’s a big step, but one I’m incredibly excited about.

I’m a frontend-focused software engineer with over 9 years of experience building scalable, user-centric applications. My passion lies in creating clean, maintainable code, working with modern tools like React and TypeScript, and collaborating with teams that care about quality as much as I do.

Perth offers something new—new perspectives, new people, and new opportunities to grow. I’m especially looking forward to joining a local tech team where I can contribute meaningfully, while learning from a different culture and pace of life.

I’m relocating with my amazing wife and our two boys (ages 5 and 3). We’re looking forward to sunny beaches, kangaroos, and maybe even learning to say “mate” without sounding too awkward.

This blog will be a place for me to reflect on the transition—personally, technically, and professionally. If you’re also considering a move, or just curious about how life unfolds for a developer in a new country, stay tuned.

Thanks for reading — and if you're in Perth, let’s connect!
